Job Title: Engineer Staff


The data scientist/engineer will be part of the growing global Data Science team. Since its inception, the team’s project portfolio has expanded to include advanced data analytics for manufacturing, business, marketing and tire performance. Associates come from a broad range of backgrounds and collaborate to develop new ways to analyze and model complex processes through the use of the data available throughout the company and elsewhere.


Due to the growing number of projects in the portfolio, there are ample opportunities for team members to assume leadership roles within current projects as well as lead the development of new exciting opportunities.



Masters degree with a quantitative focus; PhD strongly preferred.

2+ years of experience in two or more of the following areas:

  • Developing and/or applying diverse modeling methodologies in a business or marketing environment 
  • Experience with sales and marketing analytics such as pricing and revenue management models, customer sentiment analysis, market segments visualization and optimization
  • Experience with scripting in a Linux environment and working with databases (SQL, non-SQL, HBASE); working experience with big data technologies will be a plus
  • Experience with statistical and mathematical modeling environments (R, Python, MATLAB, Weka, etc.)
  • Developing and applying machine learning methodologies (DoE, Neural Networks, Regression and Classification trees, Boosting, Bootstrapping, etc.) to solve complex problems

Demonstrated leadership skills and good communication skills: both oral and technical writing.

Ability to work in a team environment in a project matrix organization.


  • Analyze diverse sets of business and customer data in order to identify patterns and develop predictive models for marketing analytics
  • Implement new methodologies for assessing the state of targeted tire markets such as customer sentiment and pricing sensitivities
  • Collaborate with business and marketing analysts to validate models and improve business processes
