Data Scientist

Job Description - work with team of data scientists and engineers to:

  • Demonstrated experience applying Data Science methodologies to real world problems.
  • Experience in scaling up smaller projects and sharing work collaboratively across a wider team.
  • Intermediate to Expert status in analyzing extremely large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets with a variety of tools
  • Maintain Vertica database and ETL processes written in Python
  • Create, implement, tune, and test algorithms for generating recommendations
  • Work with other teams throughout Gaikai and Sony to exchange data, specify APIs, and otherwise assist in meeting our company's data warehousing needs
  • Experience with A/B testing and test and control test designs
  • Must have an in depth knowledge of statistical techniques including regressions, cluster analysis test design, non-parametric tests and forecasting methodologies.
  • Sufficient data warehouse and non-relational data techniques knowledge to work effectively with engineering partners
  • Experience using SQL to query databases.

Requirements

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science. MS or PhD degree preferred.
  • Machine Learning experience or training
  • Software development experience in a team environment (Python preferred)
  • Working knowledge of SQL (Postgres/Vertica-preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Linux

     

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Python, including Scikit-Learn/Numpy/Scipy
  • Experience using Machine Learning Algorithms on big (Terabytes) data
  • Experience with git, unit tests and other standard Software Engineering tools.
  • Experience with Columnar Databases - Vertica preferred
  • Model production in Spark
