Job Details

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic data & analytics technology professional to join our team as an Enterprise Data & Analytics Architect. In this highly pivotal role, the ideal candidate will develop a solid understanding of McDonald’s business strategies and help lead the transformation of our data management and business intelligence capabilities to position McDonald’s for growth. He/she must have a proven track record of working with complex inter-related systems across digital, restaurant systems, supply chain, marketing and other QSR systems, and bringing that content together on integrated data & analytics platforms.



  • Own and develop end-to-end vision of the enterprise data & analytics strategy, provide thought leadership to a diverse team
  • Drive the modernization of the architecture and design of the data & analytics platform, including traditional and modern data stores and data engines, MDM and analytical/BI reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with internal teams as well as external partners
  • Consult with multiple business teams across Digital, Data Science, Operations, Supply Chain and Marketing as well as with technology development leaders and partners to deliver key business growth objectives.
  • Understand how data flows across the enterprise and how businesses monetize these data assets to extract the most value from the data
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills in this setting will position this candidate for future career growth at McDonald’s.
  • Serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development, oversees the design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures and tools; reviews and evaluates database performance, risk and financial analysis feasibility studies.
  • Monitor industry trends and directions; develops and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build, maintain and leverage the data model, ensuring integration with corporate data standards.
  • Provide extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance of the highest level to senior managers and technical resources in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases.
  • Identify strategic data requirements and design models to make sure such data requirements align with the architecture of the enterprise.
  • Create inventory of data and storing the data in an easily accessible manner while ensuring protection from unauthorized persons.
  • Manage and develop governance around BI reporting platform and the data warehouse.
  • Responsible for protecting the enterprise’s data, but also creates back up and DR plan to cater for the data needs of the company in times of emergency.
  • Responsible for creating, tracking and maintaining budgets for architecture department.

  • Actively participates as a member of the Data & Analytics & Digital Leadership Team.


Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in data & analytics related roles and responsibilities
  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with enterprise data warehouse and BI/reporting architecture, design and implementation, data management and data integration
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a development technical lead or lead architect
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with enterprise architecture governance workflow



  • Current industry knowledge of forward-looking data technology (Big Data, Hadoop, Cloud platforms, in memory databases, streaming data 7 analytics)
  • Excellent technical communication and ability to participate and contribute in a team environment, and to work with users of all levels to architect innovative solutions.
  • Prior experience with:
  • Industry security practices for protecting BI applications and data
  • Agile project methodology
  • Data governance practices
  • Master Data Management (MDM) platforms and practices
  • Data management using Cloud computing platforms and technology (such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
