We are looking for a passionate Analytics Lead to turn data into insight and insight into business decisions and results. You will lead our team of analysts and help define our strategy for using analytics to improve gameplay and product performance. You will support multiple products, from currently live titles like The Sims 4, to yet unannounced major mobile game launches. You should be a sharp, curious, and an analytic individual who has a passion for games and a strong desire to develop and grow a critical team and function. Your insight and leadership will influence game design to drive improved acquisition, retention, and monetization.

 

What a Analytics Lead Does At EA

  • Works collaboratively with design, producers, data analysts, and data scientists, to present data that will provide actionable insights into the game to improve the acquisition, engagement and monetization of our audience
  • Manages the daily workload of the analytics and data engineering teams
  • Works to develop and grow the technical and soft skills of their team members
  • Define the framework and approach for regular reporting, tools, dashboards, etc.
  • Ensures high quality production of that reporting
  • Helps script, maintain and create automated processes for pulling and reporting data
  • Drives continuous improvement in our methodologies, systems and processes
  • Prepares and presents ad hoc analyses and decks to senior management
  • Is actively engaged in our game and develop a deep understanding of game mechanics including gameplay and economy
  • Defines and develops metric frameworks for production and design to measure and monitor their success
  • Structures and leads regular conversations with production and design leadership to develop and test hypotheses about player behavior and motivation in pursuit of producing a better player experience
  • Partners closely with other studios and central resources providing services ranging from data science to user research

Requirements

The Next Great Analytics Lead Needs

  • BA or BS in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field
  • 6+ years of relevant hands-on experience in a consumer products-oriented industry; gaming, entertainment, or e-commerce is a plus
  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a data analyst
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience with data visualization packages like Shiny or Tableau
  • Experience with a statistical software package; R is a plus
  • Exemplary SQL skills, including experience querying large, complex data sets; Hadoop is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to simplify difficult technical concepts
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to liaise with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Passion for gaming is a big plus
