Job description: Principle Engineer

(Computer Vision / Machine Learning)

At Comcast Innovation Labs, we drive the future for our advanced technologies vast content, innovative platforms and high-speed data networks in ways that will redefine the experience of our customers, partners and employees.We tackle complex problems in computer vision, robotics, deep learning, data science, IoT, human behavior and large-scale distributed systems just to name a few.

 

As an experienced Computer Vision / Machine Learning Engineer you will:

  • Design, implement, and deploy full-stack solutions from small scale PoCs to serving millions of Comcast customers.
  • Investigate and solve exciting and difficult challenges in image recognition, classification, content analysis, and deep learning.
  • Research and develop scalable and dynamic computer vision / machine learning solutions to hard problems.
  • Use the latest advances in neural networks and deep learning to enhance our products and create new experiences.
  • Be a valued contributor in shaping the future of our products and services.
  • Collaborate witha cross-functional agile team of software & hardware engineers, data scientists, ML experts, and others to address challenges head on.
  • Help drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality.
  • Care aboutagile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or a Master's degree with equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in computer vision or machine intelligence.
  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals or a proven track record of industry innovation in creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art.
  • At least 3 years of experience in C++, C# or Java.
  • Highly proficient in Python and data engineering
  • Strong mathematics, statistics, and data analytics abilities
  • Skilled work with stream & batch data, extremely large data sets and data visualization

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Track record of successful projects in algorithm design and product development.
  • Deep learning, machine learning, information retrieval, or data mining experience.
  • Experience developing / implementing anomaly detection or self-healing solutions.
  • Experience with content management and streaming, linear or IP video
  • Advanced computer vision skills in object detection, recognition, 3D computer vision, and/or tracking.
  • Some experience in HW development / prototyping.
  • Experience in complex networks, big data, mobile and /or wireless environments
  • Familiarity with spectrum analysis and low level machine data
  • Experience with data processing and storage frameworks like Hadoop, Scala, Spark, Storm, Cassandra, Kafka, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production-quality code.
