Job Details

The Senior Digital Analyst is a key member of Best Buy’s digital intelligence & optimization team who will help bring insights to our business partners. This role studies and models website behavior patterns and trends using various data science tools to better understand the story behind the data and insights relevant to our business partners. Uses statistical-based approaches to problem solving applying analytical modeling techniques across exploratory, classification, and prediction-based domains. Applies critical thinking skills to synthesize data, presents findings, provides recommendations and insights to all levels of the organization.

 

What will you do?

  • Actively partner and develop effective relationships with related groups in eCommerce management, Marketing, and IT to facilitate and manage efforts across team to turn insights into practice on the site. Connect with other Enterprise analytics teams to solve complex business problems with data.
  • Providing key stakeholders with in-depth analysis of clickstream data from modeling that include insights into key behaviors such as visitor abandonment, engagement task completion rates and more.
  • Present user behavior insights and findings derived from model results for decision making by Ecommerce, Marketing and IT Management. Estimate financial an/or customer experience impact of site changes or features based on visitor behavior data.
  • Utilize A/B testing, through work with internal and external teams, as a tool to assistant in the measurement and evaluation of enhancements.
  • Recommending improvements to the website experience and numerous cross-site features based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Providing training and education related to applied statistics to the broader organization and team.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business Analytics, Economics, or Mathematics; or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience with R, Python, JAVA basics or other advance analytics software packages in either school or previous work experience
  • 1 year of experience with advanced modeling techniques for classifications, exploratory, and time series in either school or previous work experience
  • 1 year of experience with a web analytics tools (e.g. Adobe, Coremetrics, Webtrends or Google Analytics) in either school or previous work experience
  • 1 year of high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools in either school or previous work experience

     

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience with Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView or other visualization solutions in either school or previous work experience
  • 1 year of experience with Adobe Omniture, AWS or Google Analytics in either school or previous work experience
  • 1 year of experience with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Spark, SparkR in either school or previous work experience
  • Web Analytics Certification
  • 1 year of experience/familiarity with concepts of database design and SQL in either school or previous work experience
