Job Details

The Sr. Marketing Analyst is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of corporate marketing research activities related to Mitsubishi Electric Automation customers, markets and product lines. The candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, synthesizing, and summarizing findings of research initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience conducting research utilizing a variety of sources, and developing insight from qualitative and quantitative information in a B2B setting.

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Proficiency with Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Take a leadership role designing, managing, and analyzing market customer, sales and economic data to identify opportunities for growth.

  • Gather customer intelligence from a variety of internal and external sources, such as industry data, economic data, CRM, POS, Hoovers, and SAP.

  • Perform analysis of data and create insights to develop business plans and strategy, to improve target account selection, and to identify new viable customer and distributor targets.

  • Develop market understanding through ongoing research efforts, utilizing customer data, market insights, and sales data to identify trends and unmet market needs.

  • Collaborate with internal customers to identify value propositions related to relevant customer and market segments.

  • Execute and monitor demand generation initiatives targeted at acquiring leads, converting leads to prospects, and prospects to customers; and adjust for optimal success when needed.

  • Partner with Sr. Manager of Corporate Marketing to identify strategic decisions that require research, clearly define scope, method, and deliverables on projects.

  • Work effectively with external consumer research suppliers as needed.

 

Collaborate with Sales and Product Marketing

  • Work closely with Sales and Product Marketing to identify and message to target markets and customer segments based on current and developing offerings.

  • Utilize Voice of Customer research techniques to enhance e new product development.

  • Assist to create marcom strategy with key messaging to target accounts by partnering with Sales and Product Marketing to mine and interpret market and customer data.

  • Create and maintain target customer/channel action plans in coordination with Sales.

 

Develop Function for Mitsubishi Electric Automation

  • Provide thought leadership to develop the organization’s use and understanding of markets and customer data by researching, recommending, and implementing advanced tools and techniques.

  • Prepare and present white papers, interact with industry associations and panels, and closely monitor best practices in marketing strategy.

  • Assist management with the creation and updating of sales and expense budgets and associated documentation.

  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Business, Marketing, Psychology, Economics, or Data Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant B2B market research experience.
  • Demonstrates understanding of market research techniques, how to connect findings to the business objectives, and translate information into recommendations.
  • Proven ability to analyze market information and consumer insights to identify opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking skills, including capabilities to assess current situation, draw conclusions and envision future business opportunities.
  • Proficient in business procedures, capable of multitasking and prioritizing work.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including writing and presentation.
  • Computer proficiency – knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

  

Beneficial Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Industrial Automation products is desired – Servo/Motion Control, PLC, HMI, VFD.
  • Executing marketing activities and promotions based on data-driven customer needs and/or predictive modeling, coordinated demand generation activities in sync with field and channel selling campaigns and strategies.
  • The resource should be comfortable with big data, database structures, analytics tools, project / program management, and presenting ideas and theories from the analysis of data.
